Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Calgary focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors invest about ten years in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and in fact quite a number podiatry training programs are located inside these institutions. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired significant health care training with an emphasis on problems involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are educated to care for complications ranging from typical disorders such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more perplexing for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have thorough surgical instruction which give them the prior experience required to carry out surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other activities.
