Lloydminster Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Lloydminster specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists invest an average of 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes lie inside these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received considerable medical training with a main focus on difficulties pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to manage difficulties stretching from common problems for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more challenging like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical education which provide them the experience vital to perform surgery on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it easy for a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and defend against many conditions which the feet normally encounter.
