Fort McMurray Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Fort McMurray - Thickwood Heights focus on the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors put in an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and actually several podiatry programs lie within these institutions. At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received encompassing health care education with an attention to on concerns regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are qualified to manage problems extending from standard ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more challenging like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical training which provide them the practical experience necessary to perform surgery on those troubles that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities permits a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and avoid countless complications which the feet routinely encounter.
