Foot Institute Doctors invest about ten years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in reality quite a number podiatry training programs are contained inside these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have gained comprehensive medical instruction with a main focus on conditions involving the ankles and feet. They are trained to treat complications varying from basic disorders for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more obscure like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical education which supply them the skill required to conduct surgery on those issues that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait problems makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to design footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and protect against many conditions which the feet regularly experience.
