Fort Saskatchewan Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Fort Saskatchewan specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to typical medical school and in fact a number of podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received encompassing medical instruction with an importance on issues regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to treat concerns ranging from usual disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more challenging including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have considerable surgical instruction which give them the skill crucial to carry out surgery on those issues that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it easy for a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and protect against countless problems which the feet frequently experience.
