Leduc Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists here at The Foot Institute – Leduc focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists devote an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles general medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programs lie within these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have gained significant medical training with an emphasis on issues pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to care for conditions varying from common afflictions such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more puzzling including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical education which furnish them the practical experience vital to conduct surgical treatment on those troubles that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it easy for a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and avoid many issues which the feet normally encounter.
