Our doctors invest an average of a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and as a matter of fact quite a number podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have obtained considerable medical training with a concentration on issues concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to treat difficulties ranging from basic afflictions for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more complicated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have substantial surgical education which provide them the practical experience needed to perform surgery on those issues that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait problems facilitates a Podiatric physician to create shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and help prevent countless problems which the feet usually experience.
