Foot Institute Podiatrists put in an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles typical medical school and in fact many podiatry programs lie within these institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have gained substantial health care training with an emphasis on conditions pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are instructed to manage concerns stretching from regular afflictions for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are a lot more complex like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical training which give them the prior experience necessary to perform surgery on those complications that are best remedied through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait deviations facilitates a Podiatric doctor to develop footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and defend against a large number of conditions which the feet generally encounter.
