Fort McMurray - River City Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Fort McMurray - River City specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They put in around ten years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and as a matter of fact a number of podiatry programs lie inside these institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have gained extensive medical education with a concentration on issues involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are instructed to care for difficulties ranging from basic ailments for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more challenging for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical education which give them the experience required to perform surgery on those issues that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait problems enables a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and avoid countless problems which the feet normally encounter.
