Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Calgary North provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists put in an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and in fact many podiatry training programs lie within these academic institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have received wide-ranging medical training with an emphasis on difficulties regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to manage issues varying from normal disorders for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are a lot more complicated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical training which furnish them the experience needed to conduct surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.
