Doctors at The Foot Institute – Strathmore provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. They spend about ten years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and in reality many podiatry programs are contained inside these schools. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained substantial health care instruction with a stress on difficulties pertaining to the feet and ankles. They are studied to treat problems ranging from simple ailments such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more complicated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have significant surgical training which give them the experience required to carry out surgical treatment on those concerns that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Comprehending biomechanics and gait deviations permits a Podiatric physician to create shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and avoid countless problems which the feet frequently encounter.
