Strathmore Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Strathmore specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists put in an average of 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and a number of podiatry programs lie inside these schools. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received substantial medical education with an importance on problems regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are qualified to handle conditions varying from general ailments for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more challenging including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical education which supply them the experience vital to conduct surgical treatment on those concerns that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and help prevent a large number of problems which the feet generally experience.
