Upon achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have acquired extensive health care instruction with a main focus on complications pertaining to the feet and ankles. They are trained to treat difficulties extending from standard conditions such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more obscure for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have substantial surgical education which supply them the experience crucial to execute surgery on those concerns that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it possible for a Podiatric physician to develop footwear and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and avoid a large number of troubles which the feet frequently encounter.
