Podiatric Medical School resembles typical medical school and as a matter of fact a number of podiatry training programs lie within these academic institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have gained substantial medical training with a focus on problems concerning the ankles and feet. They are trained to treat problems ranging from usual problems for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more complicated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical training which furnish them the experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those conditions that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and prevent many problems which the feet normally experience.
