Foot Institute Doctors put in an average of a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and in reality various podiatry programs are located inside these schools. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait problems facilitates a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and minimize the risk of many problems which the feet typically encounter.
