Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors spend approximately 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry programs are located inside these academic institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained encompassing healthcare education with a focus on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to deal with complications varying from general afflictions for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more perplexing such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have considerable surgical instruction which provide them the expertise crucial to perform surgery on those issues that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and prevent countless troubles which the feet commonly experience.
