Foot Institute Doctors put in about a decade in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programs are contained inside these institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received extensive health care instruction with an emphasis on problems regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are studied to manage issues varying from standard disorders for example, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which supply them the experience necessary to execute surgery on those troubles that are ideally handled through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and minimize the risk of many conditions which the feet frequently encounter.
