They invest an average of ten years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in reality a number of podiatry programs are located inside these schools. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have received substantial medical instruction with a stress on complications concerning the feet and ankles. They are qualified to handle conditions stretching from general ailments such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more puzzling for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical instruction which supply them the expertise required to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are best remedied through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and avoid a large number of troubles which the feet commonly experience.
