Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie specialise in the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. They spend approximately 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to typical medical school and several podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have obtained extensive medical instruction with an attention to on complications pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to handle concerns ranging from basic afflictions for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more obscure including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical education which supply them the experience essential to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities.
