Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie specialise in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors spend an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles regular medical school and in fact many podiatry training programs lie within these institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received wide-ranging health care instruction with a stress on conditions regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to deal with problems extending from typical afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more obscure for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical instruction which supply them the expertise vital to perform surgery on those troubles that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait deviations permits a Podiatric physician to create footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of conditions which the feet normally experience.
