Our doctors devote an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in reality many podiatry programmes are contained inside these schools. Upon procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have received extensive healthcare training with a concentration on complications involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are educated to handle difficulties extending from conventional conditions such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more intricate such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical instruction which give them the expertise crucial to conduct surgery on those problems that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities enables a Podiatric physician to create shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and reduce the chances of many complications which the feet usually encounter.
