They spend around a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and actually a number of podiatry programmes are contained inside these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.
