Foot Institute Doctors devote approximately ten years in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in reality several podiatry programmes are contained within these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained significant medical education with a main focus on conditions concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are taught to manage complications extending from basic afflictions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more complex for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical education which provide them the skill required to perform surgical treatment on those troubles that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait irregularities enables a Podiatric physician to design footwear and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and defend against many issues which the feet routinely experience.
