Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They spend approximately a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and as a matter of fact numerous podiatry programmes are located within these schools. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 - 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received wide-ranging healthcare training with an attention to on conditions concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to manage problems varying from typical ailments for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more challenging for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical instruction which give them the experience essential to conduct surgery on those concerns that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait problems makes it easy for a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and help prevent a large number of issues which the feet typically experience.
