Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend about a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and in fact numerous podiatry training programs lie within these institutions. Upon achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have obtained extensive health care education with a main focus on conditions pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are educated to handle issues extending from basic problems for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more complicated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have substantial surgical training which furnish them the experience vital to perform surgery on those concerns that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Comprehending biomechanics and gait deviations makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of numerous conditions which the feet routinely encounter.
