Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors put in around 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to traditional medical school and in reality numerous podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received substantial medical training with an attention to on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to manage problems stretching from regular afflictions for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more sophisticated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical instruction which give them the experience necessary to execute surgical treatment on those problems that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and reduce the chances of countless troubles which the feet typically experience.
