Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors invest an average of ten years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and as a matter of fact many podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received comprehensive medical education with a concentration on conditions involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to treat issues extending from general ailments such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical education which supply them the prior experience needed to execute surgical treatment on those conditions that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and defend against numerous troubles which the feet normally encounter.
