Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors put in an average of a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and as a matter of fact numerous podiatry training programs lie within these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received extensive health care education with a concentration on conditions involving the ankles and feet. They are studied to treat concerns ranging from familiar disorders such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical education which give them the skill vital to perform surgical treatment on those troubles that are best remedied through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it possible for a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and avoid numerous issues which the feet frequently encounter.
