Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists devote an average of a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in fact many podiatry programs are contained inside these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have acquired extensive medical training with an attention to on difficulties concerning the ankles and feet. They are studied to care for issues extending from general afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more complicated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical education which give them the skill required to conduct surgical treatment on those troubles that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and defend against many complications which the feet usually encounter.
