Our doctors put in an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and in fact many podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received extensive healthcare training with an emphasis on issues regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are taught to handle problems varying from familiar problems such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are a lot more complicated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical education which supply them the practical experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it easy for a Podiatric doctor to create shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and prevent a large number of complications which the feet regularly encounter.
