Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists spend about 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to traditional medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained encompassing healthcare training with a concentration on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are studied to handle complications extending from normal disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have considerable surgical training which give them the skill required to carry out surgical treatment on those issues that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors likewise have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait irregularities facilitates a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and minimize the risk of numerous issues which the feet typically experience.
