Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists spend an average of 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to typical medical school and as a matter of fact a number of podiatry programmes are located within these academic institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have acquired thorough healthcare instruction with a main focus on problems involving the feet and ankles. They are trained to care for conditions ranging from familiar problems for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more complex for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical instruction which give them the practical experience crucial to carry out surgery on those troubles that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and reduce the chances of numerous issues which the feet usually experience.
