Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors put in an average of a decade in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in point of fact many podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have received considerable medical instruction with a stress on complications concerning the ankles and feet. They are taught to manage issues varying from standard ailments for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more obscure for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which furnish them the practical experience essential to carry out surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait problems makes it easy for a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and protect against many complications which the feet typically encounter.
