Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They put in approximately a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and as a matter of fact quite a number podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have acquired substantial health care instruction with a concentration on concerns involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to treat conditions ranging from regular afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more complicated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which give them the expertise necessary to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and avoid a large number of conditions which the feet frequently experience.
