Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists devote an average of 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles usual medical school and in fact a number of podiatry programs are located inside these academic institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received comprehensive health care instruction with a main focus on problems involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to deal with problems ranging from regular ailments like ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more challenging for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical instruction which provide them the experience required to perform surgery on those issues that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and protect against countless issues which the feet usually experience.
