Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors put in around 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and numerous podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have obtained substantial health care training with a concentration on conditions concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to manage issues varying from conventional ailments for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more sophisticated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical education which provide them the skill required to execute surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and minimize the risk of many problems which the feet usually encounter.
