Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists spend an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and actually several podiatry training programs are located inside these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received considerable medical education with an emphasis on complications regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to address issues stretching from basic conditions for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more sophisticated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical training which furnish them the experience necessary to execute surgical treatment on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations permits a Podiatric physician to design footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and help prevent numerous problems which the feet regularly experience.
