Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors devote approximately 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in point of fact several podiatry training programs are located within these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have obtained significant medical instruction with an emphasis on difficulties pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are trained to treat problems varying from common ailments for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more obscure for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical training which furnish them the prior experience essential to perform surgery on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to create shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and defend against many problems which the feet frequently experience.
