Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote around a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and as a matter of fact various podiatry training programs lie inside these academic institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have gained substantial healthcare education with a focus on issues involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are taught to treat concerns ranging from commonplace conditions like ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more obscure for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical training which give them the experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait irregularities allows a Podiatric physician to create footwear and orthotics that can offer pain relief and reduce the chances of countless issues which the feet typically experience.
