Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote about 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and as a matter of fact many podiatry training programs are located inside these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Doctors have gained considerable medical instruction with an emphasis on complications concerning the ankles and feet. They are skilled to treat issues stretching from commonplace problems for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more challenging for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical training which furnish them the expertise necessary to conduct surgery on those troubles that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait deviations facilitates a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and reduce the chances of numerous conditions which the feet regularly experience.
