Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and many podiatry training programs are contained within these institutions. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received extensive health care instruction with an emphasis on conditions pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to address problems extending from normal conditions for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more sophisticated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical training which give them the expertise necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those conditions that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait problems facilitates a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and defend against numerous issues which the feet regularly encounter.
