Our doctors invest an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and actually a number of podiatry programmes are contained inside these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have acquired wide-ranging medical training with a concentration on problems involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to treat conditions varying from common afflictions for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more perplexing for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it possible for a Podiatric physician to design footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and defend against many problems which the feet usually experience.
