Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists devote around 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Doctors have obtained thorough healthcare instruction with a stress on difficulties pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are instructed to deal with difficulties varying from normal disorders for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more obscure for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical instruction which furnish them the experience crucial to conduct surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally managed through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait problems empowers a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and prevent numerous issues which the feet regularly experience.
