Doctors at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They put in about a decade in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in reality several podiatry programmes are located inside these institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have gained thorough medical training with a stress on conditions regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to address problems extending from regular conditions for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which supply them the expertise required to carry out surgery on those concerns that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities permits a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and avoid many troubles which the feet typically encounter.
