Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors devote an average of 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and as a matter of fact numerous podiatry training programs are located inside these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have gained considerable medical training with an importance on complications pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to deal with problems stretching from simple disorders for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more intricate like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have considerable surgical training which provide them the skill necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those conditions that are best remedied through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors likewise have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait deviations permits a Foot doctor to create footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and defend against a large number of problems which the feet routinely encounter.
