They spend around a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in fact quite a number podiatry programmes are contained inside these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received thorough health care training with a stress on problems regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are qualified to manage complications ranging from normal conditions such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more complicated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical education which supply them the experience necessary to execute surgery on those complications that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait peculiarities facilitates a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and defend against numerous complications which the feet usually experience.
