Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They spend an average of a decade in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles regular medical school and several podiatry programmes are contained inside these schools. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received substantial healthcare education with an emphasis on difficulties involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are studied to manage issues ranging from general conditions like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more obscure for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical education which provide them the experience needed to perform surgery on those problems that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Comprehending biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and protect against many troubles which the feet regularly encounter.
