Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists spend an average of 10 years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in point of fact many podiatry programs are located inside these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained extensive health care training with an emphasis on problems involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to handle difficulties varying from typical afflictions for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more sophisticated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical education which provide them the expertise necessary to conduct surgery on those issues that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Podiatric doctor to develop footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and protect against many problems which the feet normally experience.
