They invest an average of 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry training programs are contained inside these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received substantial health care training with an attention to on problems pertaining to the feet and ankles. They are skilled to treat difficulties ranging from familiar ailments for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more intricate for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical training which provide them the practical experience required to execute surgery on those problems that are ideally handled through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it possible for a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and help prevent many troubles which the feet generally experience.
