Foot Institute Podiatrists put in an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in reality a number of podiatry programs are located inside these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have obtained encompassing medical instruction with a concentration on concerns involving the ankles and feet. They are instructed to address issues varying from typical conditions such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more perplexing for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have considerable surgical training which give them the practical experience necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those complications that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and avoid a large number of problems which the feet regularly encounter.
