Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. They spend an average of ten years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and as a matter of fact numerous podiatry programmes lie inside these schools. Upon achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received encompassing medical instruction with a main focus on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to care for difficulties extending from common problems for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more complex including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have substantial surgical training which provide them the expertise essential to perform surgery on those concerns that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations empowers a Podiatric doctor to develop shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and defend against numerous conditions which the feet typically encounter.
