Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. They put in approximately 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and many podiatry training programs lie inside these schools. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received extensive health care training with an emphasis on concerns pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are qualified to manage issues stretching from familiar problems like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have substantial surgical training which supply them the experience essential to perform surgery on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities empowers a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and prevent many conditions which the feet routinely experience.
